Oh precious friend and lover of all creatures, I so adore this story and image, envisioning all of our own characters and friends from Nowhere, Wit's End and Hilltop just sailing along the river in a clean little boat, with lanterns hanging, all of us singing....but don't let Tea Rat sing, he really sings badly!!! He is rather a Toad-like soul. But what a sweet image you have painted for me today. Bless you and Miss M. and Mozes and the gang. Oh, I wonder how Gustave's new restaurant is coming along..we are waiting and holding off on all appetizers in order to dig into the first fabulous meal of the season!!!!
Long ago, my boys and I used to watch this wonderful clay mation of Wind in the Willows. Seeing this brings back those memories. Each year, before Christmas, I re-read the book to myself. It is easy to find a copy because I own 5 of them, each illustrated by a different fabulous artist. It is one of the very best pieces of children"s literature.
Tis night time in my corner of the world and that was a very sweet night night story. Put all three doggies fast asleep and me right behind them...simple and sweet equals perfect dreams.
