..................Welcome to the Little Cottage down the Hill...

Mushy...

'Goodness'....twittered Miss Moussie....'marvelous mushrooms.'..and she hurried down the garden path to go and tell Gustave....
When the mushrooms, or toadstools as Gustave calls them, appear on the hilltop, everybody gets in a state of Autumn fever..!
It means the Hilltop creatures have to go harvesting..and be ready for colder days..It will not be long before the first frost will be there to turn all the berries into ruby red popsicle's...
Its also a dangerous season for the little ones...They have to be very careful not to get hit by falling nuts..especially when there's a storm..Better wear a helmet or put up your umbrella Miss Moussie always says...Falling nuts are very suspicious..you never know where they will land....

Gustave, sitting very quietly on a waterlily leaf in the pond...minding his own business..saw Miss Moussie running down the lawn....O dear..he whispered..Mouse alert..For a second he wanted to jump back under water but then he heard Miss Moussie yell....MUSHROOMS...BIG ONES..

This message, in an instant, turned Gustave into a completely different frog...he almost jumped out of his skin for joy...and started shouting..yes ..o yes...O my...time for my special recipes..mushroom pie..mushroom pancakes..mushroom soup...Quickly he leaped over to Miss Moussie, grabbed her around the waist, and started a little dance..

-O Gustave, giggled Miss Moussie...whilst swirling around...O Gustave...
Then abruptly,in the middle of a whirl,Gustave stopped....
-'What's wrong dearest...said Miss Moussie...did I step on your toes....Well,I believe I see a tear in your eye..
-I'm fine Miss..Gustave answered with a croak....I'm fine..Its just when you speak of mushrooms I become all mushy....
-O,you silly frog..squeaked Miss Moussie...and she pulled a handkerchief out of her pocket...here you are..That's just like you..getting mushy over mushrooms....Come on...lets go and get them...

And there they went....a happy frog and a sweet little mouse.....skipping down the garden lawn...
I think, soon,we will be able to go for a mushy mushroom dinner under The Liac bush...

I really thought this post was wonderful Dutchess!
Mushy...love the word, mixed in with mushrooms and falling nuts...made me laugh right out loud.

Well thought out and a good read.
It's a pleasure to read along...kind of a merry we go along story which anyone would love.

Always up for more adventures with you!

Come back and see my childhood home on my blog. Just posted on Elf Village today.
