..................Welcome........

CLOINK...

-Well...dearest.....twittered Miss Moussie.sitting on her thimble next to the tea cosy....please, do tell us....where have you been the last couple of weeks..?.
Miss Moussie stared at the Dutchess, and raised one eyebrow..like she always does when she worries or finds things to be suspicious..!

-Eh....hmn..I..eh......just work..and more work..like always ..stammered our Dutchess, whilst rearranging the teacups on the kitchen table....nothing special..!.

-Then tell me dearest...twittered Miss Moussie again...are you now at home to stay for a while....?

-I am I am...said the Dutchess ...you must know I missed you all ever so much...!

-You should...you should....croaked Gustave ,who was sitting near the hearth gazing into the fire....We missed YOU like crazy...The Hilltop isn"t the same without our Dutchess....

-Hear hear...replied Horatio..sitting next to Gustave...it is like Gustave just croaked...this can NOT do dearest D...this cannot do....please, promise us that you will be here more often....we need you...!!!

-So true..squeaked Miss Moussie...we need you....did you know dear D that I cleaned out the Hilltop Hall al by myself....
- Yes Yes...oh darling Miss Moussie.. I am so grateful..you shouldn't have done that...so much work for a little mouse...

-We helped...chimed a tiny voice from the cuckoo clock....it was Belle...with next to her her Beau...who looked very grim and didn't say anything...!

-My dear friends...said the Dutchess, while she sat herself down at the kitchen table..my dear dear friends..I am ever so sorry...I know I have neglected you..but believe me when I say that I am going to make up for all this lost time..because......what would I be without you..and to think of all the adventures we already shared...

-Well..twittered Miss Moussie..the last adventure was a very cold one...my goodness....
-Twas indeed...croaked Gustave...flying on a reindeer's back....WOW...
-But we made it home alright...said Horatio....and what a welcome it was when we entered this kitchen......remember...?  You, my dear D, together with Mr C,waiting for us... it was in a bleak midwinter night that we arrived home on your doorstep..very hungry..!!
- I remember.said the Dutchess with a smile on her face...we ate a Shepard's pie..Mr C made it....wasn;t that a sweet thing to do...

-Speaking of Mr C..twittered Miss Moussie..why isn't he with us tonight....does anybody know where he is..?.
-Underground I think..croaked Gustave.........it must be ever so cold under there....

Then....there was a soft patter on the kitchen door...so softly it sounded like a little fly just knocked...but miss Moussie..who always notices everything... .noticed it....
Someone at the door dear Dutchess..she twittered..

The Dutchess opened...and there a strange black statue with icicles sticking out fell over the threshold....CLOINK.......!!!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

But I am so happy to know that icles may hurt for just a short while, and that our little Miss M. is ON THE BALL and after the Dutchess! Miss M., you must always make sure that our Dutchess is creating and spreading her charm and love! And little Miss M., that look of yours, that eyebrow, TEA RAT JUST LOVES YOUR LOOK! He has also been away, working ever so hard to find exotic teas to share with his friends. Nowhere has been so quiet and we have been sleeping, but we miss you all. Dutchess dear, always listen to the Divine Miss M.; her suspicions are usually RIGHT! Come, come and play with us. Nita

And the story continues, may it never end!

What a simply divine day to know that dear Dutch is back where she should be. Where her heart is glad and never sad.

Home at Hilltop is never the same, without you.

Love from your readers,
